The Waiting Game

I haven't made a post in a few weeks so I figured now is the perfect time!

I flew to DC a couple of weeks ago! It was quite the experience. Once I landed, I went straight to my appointment at the fertility clinic. We had to do a few things and then I had to go back the next day for a few other procedures. My first appointment didn't take long, so I headed to my hotel and got all checked in. It was beautiful. Right by the White House! I had an amazing view, that's for sure. I got to see it for the first time, it was breathtaking.

After I got settled in my room, they (IPs) met me down in the lobby and we went out to dinner! It was the first time meeting them. I was nervous but so excited! We went out to dinner, talked about our lives, plans for the future, the pregnancy, and everything in between. After we had dinner, they took me to see some of D.C. and showed me their favorite monuments. I loved being able to do that with them! It definitely gave us more time to talk and get better acquainted with each other. They made my first time to DC special.

One of them came and picked me up for my appointment the next morning. It was a pretty long drive but that just means extra time to talk, so I was happy! Before my appointment we grabbed some Starbucks and headed over to the appointment. I got checked and had various things done. It took a little bit, but these were some of he most important things to be done, to make sure I was 100% good to go! After that appointment was done we headed back to D.C. and walked around a big strip mall and grabbed some lunch. After that, he had an appointment with a client he had to get to, so he dropped me off at the smithsonian museum and I stayed there for about an hour. It was amazing inside! I couldn't stay long because I had my flight back home. I took an Uber to the airport and got on my flight! We had a lot of turbulence so I was quite nervous but I landed in Denver safely! I missed my flight from Denver back home so I had to arrange a ride back home. It was hectic!!! My Aunt lives in denver though, so she offered to pick me up at the airport and I stayed the evening with her and my kids and their dad drove to pick me up. It was a blessing in disguise though, as it gave me and her time to catch up and meet my kids, too. They loved her and we plan to visit more often.

Anyways, back to the subject, I got home and waited and waited to hear back for medical clearance, AND THIS WEEK I GOT IT! I have to go back soon for an embryo transfer and I am ECSTATIC! I'm so thankful they are choskng me to xarry their precious baby. This is going to be once of the most rewarding experiences. They are so deserving and I can see the love they have for each other, they.are going to be amazing parents. 💜

Hopefully I'll have news of a transfer date soon!

Try Again

These have been two of the hardest weeks I’ve had in along time. Waiting was excruciating. Nobody likes to wait, but oh boy was this difficult. I mean, this is a big deal , and we all just wanted to know. I went for bloodwork 6 days after the transfer. This was to make sure my levels were all good, and my body was reacting properly to the medicine and doing what it was suppose to, and possibly see if HCG was present. There wasn’t .  That early it typically isn’t a big deal though, because the baby could have just implanted late. It happens often. I talked to my nurse and she said I’d go back in a few days to see if my levels raised. Between those few days I bought so many pregnancy tests.  I started seeing two lines! Plus signs! I was THRILLED . The parents were so happy. Of course, we weren’t 100% sure since I hadn’t had more bloodwork yet. We all stayed optimistic. 17 weeks and time is flying!

3 more weeks, and we are to the halfway mark! Time has definitely flown by so far! Tomorrow (8/15) I will be 17 weeks! Baby is now a whole 5 inches! The past few days I have felt lots of movement and little kicks. It’s such an amazing feeling.  We have had a couple of big appointments so far and we got to see the baby! At the last ultrasound we had, baby was all over the place and moving like crazy! We even saw the little fingers and toes. So precious ❤️ The dads get to come with to all of these appointments and I love that they get to see how much their baby is growing and changing. The bigger thing though is that the baby is healthy and right one track!  The next few months will be crazy but I’m looking forward to it! Exciting things happening!

So many things have happened over the past several weeks! Lots of phone calls, lots of paperwork, and lots of planning! We had to review contracts, review them AGAIN, get things signed, notarized, faxed, emailed, mailed, it was a lot to do! We finally got everything in place after many months. This week, I got my schedule! It’s what I’ve been waiting for this entire time. I have many appointments over the next month. I have different medicines I have to take and different procedures I have to do. Am I nervous? A little! I think I’m more nervous about flying than anything honestly. I have to do that again in a couple of weeks and I’m pretty scared 😱 Of course, it’s worth it! I know a lot of things are going to change. Obviously pregnancy already changes your body, but when you have to take medicine, hormones etc, your body acts VERY differently.
